Standard photographs taken by the artist himself and developed at an ordinary photo lab serve as the foundation for these 72 photos, mostly published for the first time. They are snapshots of family celebrations, people, landscapes or architecture. After his daily work on the large paintings in his studio, Richter pulled these photos through the remaining wet paint on the squeegee.
