Man Ray

Man Ray was a superb technician and a highly inventive artist. He often created many variations from a specific shoot or from his darkroom manipulations. This exhibition emphasises his techniques of framing, cropping, solarising and use of the photogram. The two hundred works (mostly vintage prints and some unpublished) are divided into nine major sections: New York & Duchamp, Films, Fashion, Portraits, Nudes, Objects, Rayographs (photographs taken without a camera), Landscapes and Documents.
