  • Tate
  • (last copies) Expo: London: 12/2/2005-15/5/2005,, Tate Britain, London
  • by Katharine Lochnan
Taking their inspiration from Turner, both Whistler and Monet sought beauty in the modern urban environment, compromissed as it alreayd was in their day by encroaching development and industrial polution. In doing so, they created some of the most poetic landscapes of the 19th C. Whilst these three great artists have been the subject of numerous exhibitions and publications, the realationship between them has never been fully explored.
