Charles Vandenhove

The Liège architect Charles Vandenhove (°1927) has designed a new town hall for the municipality of Ridderkerk near Rotterdam. The building is located on an oval square, Koningsplein, the new heart of Ridderkerk. The monumental façade and the impressive front extension present a contrast with the light and open main volume, which combines the public functions of the town hall with a meeting centre (with a theatre, a music school and a Grand Café).
