Description
Steve McQueens latest large-scale installation "Bass" experiments with how light, colour, and sound affect and upend our perception. Extensively documented and illustrated in this flatbook.
"Bass" is the most abstract work by artist and filmmaker Steve McQueen to date, comprising 60 ceiling-mounted lightboxes that journey through the complete spectrum of visible light in concert with a sonic component. Light, colour and the titular bass sounds flood the subterranean space in an immersive environment which extends McQueen's focus on creating environments that resonate on multiple levels and go beyond the conventional frame of cinema or exhibition space into abstraction.
