About the Author
Lo Cole was born to make picture books: his mum was an illustrator and his dad children's author. In the 1970s Michael and Joanne Cole also created iconic children's programmes ‘BOD’ and ‘Fingerbobs’ for the BBC. Lo trained as a printmaker and went on to become a highly successful editorial illustrator, becoming a weekly contributor to The Guardian and The Economist. Doris is his second children's book. The artwork from his first book, We Want a Dog, was selected by the society of illustrators for their 2021 New York exhibition. Lo lives with his family in Gloucestershire, UK.
