Description
One of the main ambitions of the MAD - Brussels Mode And Design Center is to become a platform for excellence in the fields of fashion and design. To provide a showcase that promotes all the professionals active in these two sectors.
Our objective is to communicate to a larger audience, the backstage channels, stages and procedures, that make fashion and design happen, thus amplifying the value of all professions linked to these areas.
This book, Fashion and Design In the making is a coproduction between the MAD and the publishers Sh-Op Editions.
Our mutual aim and desire within these pages, is to shed a well deserved light on the skills necessary to make place for innovation and creativity in the fields of fashion and design. By documenting a non-exhaustive list of over 70 trades, telling their stories, in words and some 200 photos we hope to convey a greater understanding of these jobs and the people who exercise them, without whom the clothes we wear, the chairs we sit on and the cars we drive would be pretty different.
