Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven has been working on a body of work consisting of drawings, paintings, collages, films and installations since the 1980s. She manipulates images depicting women - first manually and later also digitally - in order to question the objectification of women and the prevailing systems of power. In an intuitive and unconventional way, she explores subjects such as science, language and artificial intelligence, creating a universe of her own in which the oppositions between chaos and order, logic and mysticism, eroticism and technology are abolished. This book includes numerous photographs, nstallation views, newspaper clippings, invitation cards and reviews from extensive archive of the artist.

Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, *1951 in Antwerp, lives and works in Antwerp, Borgerhout.

2022 is een belangrijk jaar voor Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (70). In galerie Zeno X opent op 5 Januari 2022 een expositie die terugblikt op veertig jaar samenwerking. de tweede week van Februari week huldigt de Antwerpse Academie de kunstenares en op 30 maart krijgt ze een eredoctoraat van de Universiteit Antwerpen.
