Description
Carla Juaçaba has developed her independent practice of architecture and research since 2000 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She worked with the architect Gisela Magalhães, mostly in exhibitions related to the Brazilian native arts and historical museums.
Her first works included a series of houses - Rio Bonito (2005), Varanda (2007), Minimal (2008) and Santa Teresa (2014) -, a couple of exhibition designs and the ephemeral pavilion called Humanidade, in Rio de Janeiro, conceived with the senior scenographer and theatre director Bia Lessa.
She was invited to Venice Architecture Biennale 2018 with the project "Ballast" and also built one of the Vatican Chapels.
