HERE AND NOW at the Museum Ludwig

The starting point of the catalogue is a loan of Minoru Hirata’s historical photographs shot in the 1960s from the collection of Museum M+ in Hong Kong, which are juxtaposed with contemporary artistic positions. To which developments of the post-war period were artists reacting at the time? What motivated their sensational public actions? What moves the artist collective Chim?Pom and the artist Koki Tanaka today, and how do they relate to this historical current? Additionally, site-specific artistic interventions create an exchange between the museum and Cologne's urban space.
