Tatjana Valsang

With her own abstract formal language, Tatjana Valsang stages a complex interplay of colours and compositional elements that seem to be imbued with energy and dynamism. Guided by an experimental exploration of painting, she largely avoids narratives and gives wide scope to the processual elements in her paintings. The chronology of her working process often remains visible but intangible through the formations of overlapping and translucent layers of paint. The result is works full of vital, exuberant energy, characterised by weightlessness, and not infrequently they provide a view of a nature that appears equally hidden and powerful.
