Description
Rudolf Wacker is one of the most important Austrian representatives of New Objectivity in Europe. The Vorarlberg artist's life and his work were inextricably linked with the socio-political events of the 1910s to the 1930s. Wacker's oeuvre focused on the reality of things he found in his immediate environment, on landscapes and backyards, on female nudes and on his own portrait. Like the everyday objects found in his surrounding, he tirelessly repeated and revisited the self-portrait in multi-variant compositions.
