Description

The lichtsicht – Projection-Biennale, which takes place in 2015/2016 for the fifth time in Bad Rothenfelde, is a globally unique forum for inter national projection art. Its aim is to further establish projection art as an autonomous art genre and to exhibit its new spectrum at the height of artistic and technological development. The conditions are ideal: Serving as projection surfaces are the up to 11 metres high blackthorn walls of the graduation towers, which extend over a total length of more than one kilometer. In addition to the two graduation towers, spectacular images will also be projected in the surrounding park, onto a water fountain, for example. The participating artists use methods such as 3D simulations, interactive laser, and shadow projections, scientific imaging methods, »watersculptures,« or user-generated content in order to portray contemporary themes, from celebrity culture to species extinction, from activism to voluntary full surveillance by means of selfies, from macrouniverses to microuniverses, in impressive and astonishing images and sounds.
