Hardly another collection is as dedicated to the interconnection between literature and the visual arts as that of Brigitte and Gerhard Hartmann from Lindau on Lake Constance. In addition to the subtly balanced dialogues between text and image, the cassettes designed by the best bookbinders in the country are a further focus of the collection. The cassettes provide protection for the broad range of materials and documents that accumulate during the production of literature and art. Upon opening the cassettes, the viewer can expect many unique discoveries: manuscripts, printing blocks, ceramics, letters, blocks of granite, dancing shoes, books, sketches, etchings, and much more.
