Description
When searching through the internet, periodically, you are redirected on a reCAPTCHA page because Google suspects you of being a robot or a virus. You have to prove that you are human by selecting the correct images or sections of an image in a rectangular grid, corresponding to a task given by Google. In a photograph of a street divided into multiple squares, for example, you have to select the ones containing cars or parts of cars. In the I’m not a robot project we have to solve similar tasks, but the questions are stunningly different: ironical, provocative, politically incorrect. Neither a machine nor a human can answer them correctly, but as reflecting humans we can question the underlying emotions and morals they suggest. Tim Parchikov (b. 1983 in Moscow) lives and works as independent artist, cameraman, and film director in Moscow and Paris.
