Description
In her new multi-channel video installation "The Demon's Brain," Agnieszka Polska combines real film material with animated sequences. The starting point of the work are letters from the 15th century written by Polish salt mines manager Mikolaj Serafin, who ran the pit like an autonomous, earlycapitalist company within the feudal social system. In her installation, Polska tells the fictional story of the postman who delivers Serafin's letters. One day he experiences a revelation in the woods while on his rounds, which offers an apocalyptic vision of the future.
