Description

Color Me Softly brings together photographs by Kathleen McIntyre, whose ingenious arrangement using a color scale is revealed when looking at the Japanese-bound, closed book from the side. An expanded version of a diptych, the juxtaposition of images creates a dialogue and space between the images that opens and allows for personal interpretation.
"I wish with this book to give room for contemplation and imagination." Originally from California, Kathleen McIntyre moved to Norway at an early age. The cultural transition and need to adapt to a new language led her to develop a close relationship with her camera, becoming more of an observer than a talker. "For me, seeing is a deliberate choice searching for what is not obviously present. All layers come together in my viewfinder and what you see is what I saw."
