Description

El fotógrafo The San Sebastian native Ricardo Martin (1882-1936)is one of the great forgotten figures of Spanish photography during the first half of the 20th century. He used his camera to capture the life of San Sebastian in the midst of the Belle Époque, a cosmopolitan city where he snapped portraits of Sorolla, Chaplin, Azorin, Unamuno and Pio Baroja, among others.
Sports was another theme photographed by Martin, whose spreads were published in Italian and Swiss magazines. But he was also concerned with social issues, as proven by the photographs he took around the Hispano-Moroccan War: images of soldiers embarking or demonstrations against the conflict. In this volume, La Fabrica compiles some of his most representative photographs.
