Description
This catalogue features some twenty works, all painted between 2010 and 2012. Contrary to the widespread cupio dissolvi which seems to enshroud one strand of contemporary art, Nunziante's works seek to resist the passage of time and preserve a magical supernatural beauty, all thanks to that freedom he has always cultivated and which now increasingly leads him to interpret new and unexpected themes such as the cycle inspired by Caravaggio.
Antonio Nunziante (Naples 1956) started his career as professional painter in 1975, after having experimented painting at a very early age, an artistic prodigy. Originally his painting is characterized by figurative moments expressed with still life, landscapes, female nudes. From the early '80s, he becomes known also in America and these years are characterized by research and experimentation. The new century is for him the beginning of the great success and awards and when exhibitions are held in the most distinguished Italian and foreign galleries.
