Description
The volume Giulio Paolini. Expositio evokes the peculiar relationship that links the works of the master of Conceptual art to the tradition and history of classical art. The work Expositio (1994-2016), after which the book is named, wonders about something that, while overtly 'exhibited', escapes our gaze. Tre per tre (ognuno è l'altro o nessuno) (1998-1999) suggests a reflection on a topic dear to Paolini: the relationship between a work, its author and the viewer, constantly shifting their roles. Finally, the series of collages Italia antiqua (2014-15) combines pictures of masterpieces from the Poldi Pezzoli Museum with typical features of Paolini's repertoire, so the dialogue of the Poldi Pezzoli Museum with art continues, from the past to the present.
