Ugo La Pietra

Ugo La Pietra (Bussi sul Tirino, Pescara, 1938) is one of those rare creative figures who are able to act within Modernity while steering their own work, unharmed, through Post-modernity.
This leads above all to an absolute awareness of his intentions, an uncommon ability to make previsions and, above all, the creation of a linguistic code that can bear historical transformations and interpret them at the same time. The third can be the only testimony to these first two attitudes - awareness and prevision - because it is only through a productive activity - even more than through its products - that we can historically and critically confirm the existence of the other two.
