Description

The book tells the story of Arredoluce, a company producing lamps and furnishing accessories that, in the postwar industrial boom, helped to write the history of Made in Italy. Arredoluce was born in 1943 in Monza on the initiative of Angelo Lelii, entrepreneur and designer passionate about America: his curiosity for innovations coming from abroad, combined with the love for traditional materials – glass above all – and a maniacal attention to detail, have marked the production line of the company that has distinguished itself over the years thanks to modern and sought-after specimens. Of Arredoluce we remember numerous participations at the Triennale di Milano, quotes on Domus, collaborations with designers such as Gio Ponti and Ettore Sottsass jr., and also a great success abroad, with orders for luxury hotels throughout the world. However, the company has undergone generational change as well as new economic scenarios, coming to closure in the nineties. The volume offers an important contribution to perpetuate the name of this glorious company and give it the right place in the Italian industrial history.
