Description

Titled after the indicative number of pages of each volume, the series “Forty-eight pages of taught architecture” intends to testify the ways in which today’s architectural culture confronts and is transmitted through the didactic work. Éric Lapierre is an architect, writer and curator. His studio, based in Paris, operates on various design and cultural fronts, as highlighted by its subdivision into three acronyms: EL Architecture, EL Text, EL Sound. His projects range from residences to exhibition spaces, from schools to urban studies. These activities are accompanied by a strong theoretical commitment, which translates into editorial work, organization of artistic events and curating of exhibitions. Éric Lapierre has also been teaching for many years at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Marne-la-Vallée (Paris), at the Polytechnic of Lausanne, at the University of Quebec in Montréal and at the Academy of Architecture of the University of Italian Switzerland in Mendrisio.
