Fondazione Ghisla Art Collection Locarno

Established in April 2014, the Ghisla Art Collection Foundation was created with the intention of making an artistic heritage of international value available to the community, to be shared by all those who recognize an indelible richness in art. The collection was created by the Ghisla spouses, driven by a growing and eclectic passion for artistic expressiveness.

Leafing through the pages of this precious volume you immerse yourself in the collecting taste of Pierino and Martine Ghisla, who over the last forty years have collected absolute masterpieces of Pop Art, Informal, Conceptual, Abstractionism, New Dada... , to which are added works by emerging authors who are perhaps less known to the general public. Among the artists collected, the names of Paul Delvaux, Joan Mir?, Pablo Picasso and Carla Accardi, Fernando Botero, Keith Haring and Robert Mapplethorpe, up to Jan Fabre, Wim Delvoye, Fabrice Hyber and Chiharu Shiota stand out.

In addition to a conversation between the curator Angela Madesani and the two collectors, the catalog contains insights into the different artistic movements collected by the two spouses, divided into thematic chapters.
