Meetings

The aim of this volume is to give a voice to representatives of several communities by enabling them to enter into a relationship with an object from their culture that is held in the collections of the MEG, the Museum of Ethnography in Geneva, Switzerland. It's a unique encounter that will give rise to an original story.

The goal of this publication is to make the voices of witnesses, from different communities around the world, heard, so that they can tell the often moving stories that connect them to the objects in the Museum's collections.

These objects will give rise to narratives other than those usually conveyed by traditional museum mediation. They will evoke stories that have remained without words because they have never been told before: powerful stories of links with a place, experiences, current or lost connections, legacies that it is important to preserve and pass on.
