Description

The World of Ice tells the story of a polar bear cubÆs adventurous journey from the North Pole to New York. The story begins when Ice leaves his home, the arctic community of Clear Water, carrying a small seaweed bag that contains the BearsÆ Petitionùa cry for help written by the worldÆs polar bears, which Ice has been tasked with delivering to the tribes of men gathered at the United Nations. It consists of a series of five books: Ice at the North Pole (global warming), Ice in Sicily (plastic and waste deposited on the seabed), Ice in South Africa: poaching, Ice in Brazil (fire and deforestation), Ice in Louisiana (oil pollution), Ice in New York (air pollution).

The first part of IceÆs journey is Ice at the North Pole (global warming). Because of his small size, the hero is chosen to help a seal pup who has been trapped by the collapse of a gigantic iceberg. As he crawls along through the only route that is still passable, Ice realizes with astonishment that the ice around him is melting,
