Dit boek bevat onuitgegeven studies die de rol van de animateur d'art in de ontwikkeling van de kunsten belichten. De animateur d'art neemt actief deel aan de verdediging van de kunsten en stimuleert de artistieke creatie van een periode. Het is een sleutelfiguur, die fungeert als een bemiddelaar tussen de kunsttakken, evenals tussen de verschillende spelers op het culturele veld. Zijn werk bestaat erin bruggen te bouwen tussen de kunstenaars en de maatschappij om zo de verspreiding en de receptie van de kunstwerken te bevorderen en een bepaalde esthetiek te promoten. Ce livre regroupe plusieurs études inédites consacrées à l'impact du rôle de l'animateur d'art dans le développement des arts. L'animateur d'art peut être défini en ces termes: il s'agit d'un acteur culturel qui participe activement à la défense des arts et à la stimulation de la création artistique d'une époque. Il est une figure clé qui se positionne comme intermédiaire entre les différents mondes de l'art ainsi qu'entre les divers agents du milieu culturel. Son travail consiste également à construire des ponts entre les artistes et son propre milieu social afin de faciliter la réception des oeuvres et promouvoir une esthétique. Les différents auteurs qui ont contribué à cet ouvrage offrent un premier portrait de cet acteur original qui influenca de manière significative les scènes artistiques du XIXe siècle à nos jours.

This book gathers new studies, which enlighten the role of the animateur d'art in the development of the arts. The animateur d'art actively participates in the defense of the arts and in the stimulation of the artistic creation in a certain period. He is a key figure positioning himself as a mediator between the different art worlds as well as between the different agents of the cultural environment. His work also consists in building bridges between the artists and his own cultural environment in order to ease the reception of the works and to promote art movements. The authors who contributed to this publication offer a first portrait of this cultural actor who influenced the art scenes from the 19th century to the present.
